Track Rules & Safety


NEDC We Want You All To Enjoy Yourself Whether Spectating Or While Pushing Your Car To Its Limits, But Your Safety Is Absolutely Paramount While Out On Site And On Track. Like Every Venue We Have Rules And Regulations that must be followed. 

Drivers These Rules (Along With Any Special Announcements) Will Be Explained At Your Drivers Briefing At The Start Of Every Event. Make Sure You arrive before 10am to have inspection of your car & Drivers Briefing starts at 10am..

AT NO POINT MUST ANYONE ENTER FROM PITS TO TRACK AREA when track is live after 10am unless member of staff says so! 

VERBAL & PHYSICAL ABUSE To STAFF WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AT TRACK. THIS MAY RESULT IN FURTHER ACTION BEING TAKEN BY NEDC. 

NEDC RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ASK ANYONE TO LEAVE THE SITE AT ANY TIME WITHOUT REMUNERATION ALONG WITH FURTHER ACTION BEING TAKEN. 

Getting On Track





- If The Customer Has Never Held A Full UK Manual Driving Licence But Is Age 12 Or Over Or Does No Longer Have A Valid UK Manual Drivers Licence, The Customer Will Have To Complete A Minimum Of 4 Hours sunday fun day track time with experianced passenger as guidance, They Must Demonstrate Their Ability To Control A Car And Behave Responsibly On Track And Having An Awareness Of Others Around Them, They Must Be Part Of A Group So That Awareness Can Be Assessed. We Assess The Driver During The drift day And If They Meet Our Sensible Standards (In Control Of Vehicle, Listens To Marshals And Briefing Instructions, Not Causing Danger To Track Or Other Track Users Etc) 

 

Private Hire Cost Is minimam of 10 car booked at £50 per person for one day or £80 pp for Weekends, Please Contact Via NEDC Facebook page, All Drivers And Passengers Must Be Signed On. No Wristband = No Track Access. Please Contact Us Direct For Further Information Regarding Private Hires & costs

 

Sunday open fun days - £40 pp for non members & free for club members 

 

Yearly club membership - £320 pp (NEDC staff select atleast 1-2 event per month to be held) 2 free passengers per event  (Compitions events is an extra cost) whatapp group for updates on members & open days.

2023 Compitions events - £40 pp (no passengers comp days) 


- If A Driver Is Taking Out A Passenger It Is The Drivers Responsibility To Make Sure The Passenger Has Signed A Disclaimer And Has Purchased A Passenger Band For That Day.

- If A Driver Is Found With A Passenger In Their Car, That Has Not Filled Out A Disclaimer Or Has Not Purchased A Passenger Band. Both The Driver And Passenger Will No Longer Be Able To Take Part In That Days Event.

 

Whilst On Track


- 5 MPH Speed Limit In Pits And All Access Roads To And From Track


- No Static Burnouts on track or in Pits 


- Obey The Flags At All Times:

-RED FLAG = Come To A Safe Controlled Stop and leave track,

​

-YELLOW FLAG - Incident On Track, Stop Drifting, Slow Down Until Clear Of Yellow Flag Situation,

​

-BLACK/WHITE CHEQUERED FLAG - End Of Session;


- All Drivers And Passengers Must Wear A Suitable Motorsport Helmet At All Times While On Track


- Drivers Front Windows Must Be No Lower Than 2 Inches At All Times, passenger same rule if no passenger the window can go all way down. 


- Under No Circumstances Should Drivers Or Passengers Exit Their Vehicle On Track, If You Have A Mechanical Failure Attempt To Get The Car To A Safe Position. If Your Vehicle Is Immobilised Stay In The Cockpit With Harness And Helmet On Until A Marshal Tells You Otherwise. In The Event Of A Fire, Try To Get Your Vehicle Off Track (If Possible And Whilst Not Putting Your Own Safety At Risk) And Exit The Vehicle As Safely As Possible.

 

Car Condition


- Driver Seat Must Be A Fixed Back Bucket Seat. It Does Not Need To Be In Date, However It Must Be In Good General Condition And Fitted Securely. Effective 1st January 2024


- Passenger Seat - If You Are Taking Out A Passenger The Passenger Seat Must Be A Fixed Back Bucket Seat. It Does Not Need To Be In Date, However It Must Be In Good General Condition And Fitted Securely. Effective 1st January 2024

- Harness - Must Be A Minimum 3 Point Harness, Secured To The Floor, Not The Seat Rail. The Shoulder Straps Must Be Fitted At The Appropriate Angle Which Is Plus 10 Degrees To Negative 45 Degrees (See Pic) ATTACHING SHOULDER STRAPS TO THE REAR LOWER OEM SEAT BELT MOUNTS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. Effective 1st January 202


- No Oil Or Fluid Leaks Will Be Tolerated


- All Vehicles Must Have Front And Rear Functional Tow Hooks Or Straps Present. Nissan 350Z, Mazda RX8, And BMW OEM Screw-In Tow Hooks Are Not Acceptable As They Shear When Pulled At An Angle. Whichever Method Is Used To Attach Your Tow Straps Or Hooks Must Not Protrude More Than 40mm. If Towing Hooks/Straps Are Not Mounted In An Easily Accessible, Low Position, Cars Will Be Recovered By Whatever Means Necessary & NEDC Cannot Be Held Liable For Any Damage Caused;


- All Vehicles Must Be Maintained To A Satisfactory Standard


- The Noise Limit Is A Strict 105 DB. Tested At Static 2m From The Car On 3/4 Engine Speed


If You Are Found To Be In Excess Of The Noise Limit You Will Be Asked To Try And Rectify This On The Day, If This Is Not Successful And Your Noise Readings Are Still Deemed As Excessive, You Will Not Be Able To Continue For The Rest Of The Session , Without Any Recompense. This Is At The Managements Discretion.


- Cars Must Have A 2L AFFF FOAM ONLY Fire Extinguisher Fitted Securely In The Car. The Driver Must Be Able To Reach The Extinguisher Without Releasing Their Seat Belt/Harness.


- Cars Must Have At Least 2 Working Rear Brake Lights;


- Cars Must Start The Day With Both Front And Rear Bumpers Fitted;


- Cars Must Have Headlights And Tail Lights Fitting Into The Factory Positions And In Reasonable Condition. This Can Be Headlight Or Tail Light Blanks As Long As They Fill The OEM Space For The OEM Light Fitting. This Can Also Include An Air Vent, Again Constructed To Look Like An OEM Light And Filling The OEM Space Accordingly.


- Cars Must Have All Factory Glass Or Perspex Replacement Windows (Driver And Passenger Window Glass Can Be Replaced By Netting, This Has To Be Authorised By Track Management Before Entering Track);


- Cars Must Have All Panels Present (Including Bonnet) And In Reasonable Condition Without Any Sharp Edges;


- Exterior Aerosol Graffiti Is Strongly Discouraged And Will Not Be Deemed Acceptable Unless Part Of A Full Car Design Or Professional Paint Finish;


- Cars Running Aftermarket Bumper Support Bars Front And Rear Are Permitted. They Must Attach Directly To The Chassis Legs Or Inner Wheel Arch And Be Made From A Maximum 25mm X 2.5mm Mild Steel, Aluminium Or Stainless Tube. The Width Of The Bumper Support Bars May Not Extend Beyond The Centre Of The Wheel Looking From The Front Or Rear Of The Vehicle. They Must Be Of, Clean Construction And Not Have Any Sharp Edges Or Forward Facing Bars.


- Cars May Be Subject To Checks By NEDC Staff At Any Point During An Event And May Be Prohibited From Using The Track Until Any Faults Are Rectified. All Decisions By NEDC Staff Are Final.

 

Convertibles /Soft-Tops/Cabriolet


- Convertibles, Soft-Tops, Cabriolets Or Any Car That Has A Removable Roof Will Be Allowed On Track ONLY If It Has A Roll Bar Or Cage That Meets The Following Requirements


- Rollbars Or Hoops Must Be Made In One Piece Without Joints. Their Construction Must Be Smooth And Even, Without Ripples Or Cracks. The Vertical Part Of The Main Rollbar Must Be As Straight As Possible And As Close As Possible To The Interior Contour Of The Bodyshell


- Rear Back Stays Are To Be Mounted As Close To The Top Of The Main Roll Bar As Possible


- Roll Bars Must Be Constructed From 38mm Diameter X 2.64mm Wall Tube Minimum Sizes. 50.8mm Diameter Material Is Preferred But Not Essential. Rear Back Stays Must Also Be Manufactured From 38mm X 2.64mm Wall CDS Tube Or Better


- Roll Bars Must Have Small Hole Around 5mm Drilled In Main Hoop, In An Accessible Position To Allow For Wall Thickness To Be Checked


- Mounting Points For Main Roll Bar And Rear Backstays Must Be Minimum 100mm X 100mm And Minimum 3mm Thickness


- Welding Should Be To Good Standard Ensuring Good Penetration


- Roll Cage Padding Is Required If Roll Bar Is Within 150mm Of Drivers Helmet.


- Cars Such As The Mazda MX5 Or BMW 3 Series Cabriolet Are Great Cars For Drifting But Offer Very Little Protection In The Event Of A Roll, Which Is Why We Are Now Enforcing These Rules.
